Terms of use
Kin, operated by dhailabs · Last updated October 26, 2026
By using Kin you agree to these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Kin.
These terms cover your use of Kin at kin.dhailabs.com, a family board operated by dhailabs. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
The service
Kin lets you create family boards with person cards and relationship links, and invite family members by Gmail address. Kin is in beta and is currently free. Features may change, and we may set limits (today, for example, one account can own up to 10 boards).
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- You sign in with a Google account. Keep that account secure, because anyone who can sign in to it can use your Kin boards.
- Give accurate information when you confirm which card is yours. Do not try to claim a card that is not you.
Boards, owners, and members
- The person who creates a board is its owner. Only the owner can invite or remove members, revoke invites, and delete the board. The owner can set the date of birth on a card nobody has claimed yet; once a person claims a card with their Gmail, only they can change its date of birth and choose whether to show it to the board.
- Members can view and edit the board. Invite only people you trust with your family’s information.
- You keep ownership of what you add. You give dhailabs permission to store, process, and display it only to run Kin for you and the people on your board.
- Add information about other people, including children and relatives, only if you have a right to share it with the people on the board, and respect their wishes.
Acceptable use
Do not use Kin to break the law, harass anyone, publish other people’s private information without a right to do so, upload malware, or try to access boards or accounts that are not yours. Do not overload or probe the service. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Deleting boards and accounts
Owners can delete a board at any time. It stays restorable for 30 days, then it is permanently deleted. To delete your account, email [email protected].
Ending your use of Kin
You can stop using Kin at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering Kin altogether. If we stop offering Kin, we will try to give reasonable notice.
No warranty
Kin is provided “as is” and “as available” while in beta, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep your data safe and available, but we cannot promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, dhailabs is not liable for any damages or losses of any kind, direct or indirect, including lost data, arising from or related to your use of Kin. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update this page and its date before it takes effect.
